Schengen States issue 14.26 million short-stay visas in 2018
Statistics published by the European Commission reveal that Schengen consulates across the globe received over 16 million applications for short-stay visas to the Schengen member states in 2018.
There were 0.9% less applications filed in 2018 compared to 2017, in which year an increase of 6.3% was marked for the first time in five years.
Presented in the table below are the Schengen visa statistics for the year 2018. These statistics were conducted based on the number of applications the Schengen consulates received, the number of visas issued, and the number of rejected visa applications for Uniform Schengen Visas, including Multiple-Entry visas.
